Field Services Bureau
The Field Services Bureau consists of three divisions that operate throughout Ventura County: Juvenile Services Division (serve juveniles and transitional-aged youth), Adult Services Division (serve adults on formal probation), and Adult Public Safety Realignment Division (serve adults on Post-Release Community Supervision, Mandatory Supervision, and formal probation). Each Division is charged with supervising clients in the community who were placed on a grant of probation by the Court after adjudication or conviction.
Clients in these divisions are assessed for risk to reoffend and needs for rehabilitation. Probation Officers utilize these validated assessments when working with clients and their support systems to develop comprehensive and targeted case plans for supervision, treatment, and programming. In addition, common community supervision terms enforced by Probation include regular office appointments, search of person and property, and drug and alcohol testing.
The Bureau offers an array of contracted services for both youth and adults to support clients in reducing risk to recidivate and successfully completing probation. Some of these contracted services include: an Adult Resource and Reporting Center, county-wide youth day reporting centers, sober living beds, embedded drug & alcohol clinicians, and youth advocates, public health nurses, educational advocates, care navigators, anger management, and several others. In addition, Probation supports youth and families in citation diversion efforts and School Attendance Review Board (SARB) meetings to reduce truancy, and adult clients in Mental Health Court and Veterans Court.
